Insights from 42nd Street...

I have had an unusual 3 weeks - unusual because I've actually had to go to work 5 days a week for the last 3 weeks - which I am not used to AT ALL since I started working from home for the past one year. I do not have to leave the house much especially not everyday for so many days.

So I have had to break some of my habits temporarily -
- Working in my PJs
- Not ironing my clothes
- Cooking (which I enjoy tremendously)
- Shopping at lunchtime

... just to mention a few

Although I've (had to) put in a lot of hours of work, I thought I would make a list of all the pros of not working from home. First of all, I have a beautiful office right across from Bryant Park and I absolutely love working to the company of a view. Some things that made my 3-week stint more fun that I thought it was going to be -

- Morning coffee on the cart at 41st and 7th where I would start my day by getting complimented every day.
- Hazelnut Coffee from Zeytinz right across the park on 40th street - I am addicted to it - I'm going to miss my afternoon fix.
- Kati Roll on 39th street.
- BCBG around the corner, H&M around another corner and a shoe shop right below my building.
- Heavenly sushi at Haru on 43rd and 7th.
- Lunch at the terrace of the Bryant Park Grill (where the food sucked by the way - if it wasn't for the terrace, I would've asked for my money back!)
- Awesome watermelon cocktails at Highbar on 48th and 8th.
- Reading on the subway - I have been exploring the universe through Carl Sagan's mind and thoroughly enjoying my commute.

Did I mention I'm on company expense for food and drink ?

Working at home definitely thrift in so many ways.Like putting make up every day, thinking of what clothes we wear, and of course our time management.
