Week in Review...

Last week was the first anniversary of my first week in my New York apartment last year and marked the beginning of a new life for me - at least I was going to TRY to add many 'firsts' and subtract all the 'seconds' from my life....

So far so good - I will not elaborate on the details - but its been a fabulous year for me work-wise - and socially/ personally - after having lived in numerous cities, I think I have finally found my match!

Alright first things first - I decided all this called for a celebration and so May 10th was chosen to be the date for my anniversary party ... my stars ( as I fondly call all the people that make up my New York family) came in large numbers - my girls, my boys, my gays, my Pakis, my ABCDs, my FOBs, and even some new stars that I met for the first time. That picture was taken the morning after - need I say more about the night in question? What a fabulous way to end and begin another year!

Rewind about 36 hours ... my darling friend who works at Bergdorf Goodman signed me up for a free facial ... so off I went weathering a storm on Friday mid-morning ... must say it was the first time I walked into BG ... and it was a little intimidating - I could just smell the money ... anyway I made my way to the beauty section where Raoul beautified me for 45 minutes with essentials from Z Bigatti (http://www.zbigatti.com/) - now I have had a facial before but never ever has anyone massaged my feet during one - I will not even try to express what that felt like because no matter how I put it, it will sound highly inappropriate.
After my facial was done and I glowed like the sun - I walked right back out into the storm across the street to the Apple Store - Friday afternoon - heavy rain - winds of at least 35 mph - and it STILL was a fish market - I think the Apple Store officially surpassed the Statue of Liberty in tourist numbers this year!
I bought the Bose SoundDock for my iPod - Apple had run out of shopping bags - so the guy found me a HUGE garbage bag and made a sack out of the speaker box - which incidentally I carried on my back like a sack - I just wanted to add to the irony - cutting edge technology wrapped in a garbage bag transported on a crowded new york subway. Although I was completely drenched, my speakers made it home neat and dry - they are worth all the trouble - I LOVE THEM!

Rewind another 12 hours to Thursday night - Buddha Bar - dinner with 10 of my colleagues - and my boss's boss shows up out of the blue and picks up the tab - I have no count of how many Moulin Rouges I had that night!

Can I have more weeks like this ?
